FAQ
For US dress sizes, deduct 2 from UK dress size.
Men are 4-5" taller than
women, so "standard" skirt, dress and coat
lengths for example, may come just above, not below the knee.
Dresses are measured from
the centre of the shoulder to the bottom.
Coats are measured from the neck, skirts from the waist.
Trousers are measured from the crotch. Allow length to cover heels.
Hips should be widest 8" below a woman's waist, but 6" below your belt.
If no hip padding is worn (e.g. for nightwear), choose 1 smaller size.
If the largest bra sizes aren't available, buy cup size and bra extenders.
Shoe sizes and widths: similar to men's, but vary widely.
